A Busy Day |
|
On Saturday July 19, 2003, Circlevilles Firefighters traveled to Monroe NY. to Christen (wetdown) Mombasha Fire Department's new Sutphen Engine and two new Chevrolet Tahoe Chief's cars. On arrival, the crew pulled two 1 3/4" pre-connects, received help from Greenwood Lake and Warwick in wetting down the apparatus and then toasted the Mombasha Officers with a "Good Luck" boot.
After returning from Monroe, the Circleville Firefighters were invited to a block party at the Heritage Crossing subdivision. The children enjoyed getting their own "wetdown" while being watched by the parents. After a short talk on Fire prevention, the children along with the Circleville crew, had their pictures taken sitting on the pumper (E-100) and Rescue (R-105) before receiving fire prevention handouts. This was a fun time for all. A short while after getting back in quarters and in service, Circleville was dispatched to a stand-by with one engine (E-100) and crew for the Mechanicstown Fire District. They were operating at a serious MVA on NY. State RT. 17. Also a short time later we also responded to a two car MVA on Silver-Lake Scotchtown Rd. Only minor injuries with this one. All-in-all a busy day with work and pleasure for the Circleville Boys! |
